Hi, and thanks for visiting my site. My name is David Pascoe, and I make kilnformed glass from my studio in Hayle, Cornwall.

I have been working as a glass artist since 2002, and started my own studio in 2003. Before this I was a fisherman, working out of Hayle harbour catching crab and lobsters.

I first discovered kilnformed glass through a friend who had worked at a glass factory in Australia, and I later saw kilnformed glass in Australia myself. Most of the glass I saw was formed float(window) glass, but it was inspiring. I returned home and started experimenting with different types of glass and processes.

I primarily use Bullseye art glass in my work as I love the variety of colour that Bullseye offer. My work is often bright and bold and made up of abstract shapes. I also use coldworking techniques to alter the surface texture of the glass by sandblasting, grinding and engraving.

In addition to my glass making I currently have the  privilege to be working a 3 month season in Antarctica at Union Glacier between November and January. Although my work for ALE is unrelated to my glass work I have found that being on the ice gives me some inspiration for new ideas for my work. The ice down there has many similarities to glass and I am hoping to integrate my new ideas into my glass over the coming months. You can find some images of Antarctica on my Instagram page.
